Sharing Sundowners

Here she is! My latest novel has finally hit the interwebs. You can now get your very own digital copy of Sundowners! WOOP!

Here is what she's all about:
SUNDOWNERS is a backwoods southern horror about the importance of family, the power of gossip and the nature of the artistic muse.
Fifteen years ago, siblings Coil and Cassiopeia suffered an incident in the woods behind their family home. An incident that neither of them can remember in full, that nearly killed Cass and left Coil accused as her abuser, and robbed young Coil of his artistic potential yet boosted his little sister into an almost overnight sensation in the art world. Now, fifteen years later, the self-exiled Coil has been called home to deal with his world famous sister as she suffers from Sundowning; severe and violent personality shifts after the sun sets. In order to cure her, the pair of siblings must come to terms with their old demons, both figuratively and literally. An ancient and terrible horror has risen once more from the backwoods of the family home, and this time it threatens to not only tear their family apart, but also the entire world.
I asked around to a few authors to see if they would be so kind as to provide me with a blurb for the book. Their responses were not just positive, they were overwhelmingly kind. I am lucky to be surrounded by so many great folks.

“Tonia Brown's characters crawl slowly out of the story, sit beside you and nestle their heads on your shoulder, smiling slyly as you cringe away, unable to put the book down because you're already hooked and they know it. Brown is one of the most talented writers to emerged from the horror scene in recent times and I, for one, will be there for every new release.” ~Gina Ranalli, author of MOTHMAN EMERGED

“Sundowners Is one of those stories that gets under your skin. Page after page you are sucked into the characters, but you know something bad is right around that corner, and you don't want anything to happen to these dysfunctional siblings.” ~Armand Rosamilia, author of the DYING DAYS zombie series

“If you haven’t read Tonia Brown, you’re missing out on one of the finest voices in dark fiction. Sundowners is Brown at her best, and you’d do well to give it a whirl.” ~Pete Giglio, author of SUNFALL MANOR and co-author of THE DARK

“Tonia Brown's Sundowners is one of the most engaging books I've read this year! This southern-flavored horror is so well-written that I found myself re-reading sentences constantly. Ms. Brown drew me right in and made me late coming back from lunch more than once.” ~Stephen A. North, author of DEAD TIDE and DRIFTER
I am also taking part in a huge October Haunted Halloween blog tour with a couple of other awesome guys; Mark Tufo, James N. Cook, John O'Brien, and Armand Rosamilia.  Keep your eyes here and I will start posting the links of the various blogs we will appear on.

There is also a blog tour specifically for Sundowners at the beginning of November. Phew! So much going on! For now, grab a copy of Sundowners and enjoy it. Be sure to let me know what you think.

Cool Club!

Okay, I have so some super cool news for you cats and kittens!

There is a super awesome book club group on Facebook, The Zombie Book of the Month Club. A fine fellow by the name of Shaun Phelps started it a few months back and now it has a little over a hundred members. The folks are cool and a lot of fun, and why wouldn't they be? They love zombie books!

Well, I am pleased to say the club selected The Cold Beneath as the zombie book of the month for October. I know! I am so excited and nervous and delighted and just plain tickled pink. TCB is very dear to me, and I am ecstatic that it's been chosen. The club will discuss the book as they read it, and I have made myself available to answer any questions they have about it. You folks know I love reader feedback, so this should prove to be an interesting experience. I can't wait to see what they think and to answer the questions and even address the complaints.

Join up with the group. You won't regret it. WOOP!

Pagan Pride

I recently hocked my wares at the local event, Piedmont Pagan Pride Day. Our church had a booth, as did my lovely twin sister and her husband. My husband helped coordinate the event so he was busy for most of the day. I had a good time. Exhausting, but good. The whole event was really fun and I, once again, didn't take as many photos as I wanted. This time it wasn't a matter of unpreparedness, as the new cell phone is a wonder for such things. No, this time it was a matter of actual time! I stayed so busy hobnobbing and discussing my work with folks that I didn't have a second to snap a pic here or there.

Ah well, maybe next year?

Here are the few pics of my booth I did manage to score, which was right at the beginning.

My stuff for sale!

More stuff!

Even more!
Booth happiness.

Untitled Update

Hey cats and kittens! I wanted to fill you in right quick on various Tonia oriented details.

To start with, the end of this month will see the release of a new horror novel from yours truly. SUNDOWNERS is a backwoods southern horror about the importance of family, the evils of gossip and the nature of the artistic muse. I am really sexcited about this one. I have gotten very good feedback from readers so far, and found the bravery to ask a few established indie authors to blurb it for me. Fingers crossed they will be able to find the time to squeeze me in, 'cause I would love to get a few words from these folks before I unleash it up on the unwitting masses. *crosses fingers* You can join the Facebook release party here, which will keep you up to date with all of the event stuff. I will have additional news about the release and other stuff soon, so keep your ear to the ground for this one. WOOP!

Don't forget you can now get an audio copy of my steampunk zombie novel, THE COLD BENEATH right now! Thanks again to Chris Barnes from Dynamic Ram Audio Productions for making my dream a reality. I couldn't be happier with the end result and am really interested in hearing what you folks think about it. Get your copy  today!

Speaking of audio fun, a few weeks ago I started a talk show on tmvcafe.com which my husband dubbed Tonia Time. You can catch it on Saturday nights at 9pm EST and also listen to any shows you missed on ITunes. The show is an hour long, and is basically a shoot the shit session between me and folks from all walks of life. I've spoken with a nude photographer, a pagan priestess, a few authors and even a Twilight mom. It's a hell of a time and I'd love to share it with you, so come on down and give us a listen!

In WIP news, I am almost done with a new humorous fantasy novel, tentatively titled GNOMEGGEDON. It features a party of four members--a fighter, a ranger, a rogue and a wizard--who are hired to help solve the origins of a mysterious plague that has ravaged the gnomish kingdom of southern Malgaria. Yes. Zombie gnomes feature heavily in this book. Anyone up for beta reading that one just drop me a line and I will get it out to ya when it is fit for human consumption. I warn you though, this is total fantasy fan wank. I suggest not taking anything in the book too seriously, because I certainly don't.

That's all for now, but I will be back later in the weekend with other updates.

Later taters,
Tonia
